Women suffer life-changing injuries in road accidents – The Irish News

A woman in her 30s suffered potentially life-changing injuries following a crash in Co Antrim on Saturday night.

The PSNI says the woman was hit by a vehicle as she walked along Glenravel Road in Martinstown just before 9pm.

A 25-year-old man was later arrested by police after receiving reports that a white van had left the scene.

A police spokesman said: “At around 8.55pm it was reported to police that a 30-year-old woman had been hit by a vehicle while she was walking.

“Passers-by located a white Peugeot Professional van with frontal damage nearby, but after the police arrived, they left the scene.

“The woman was taken to hospital for injuries that are described as potentially life-changing.

“The van was later found and a 25-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of a number of related offenses. He is currently in police custody.



“An investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident and police are appealing to anyone with any information to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 1715 26/10/24.
