Authorities said six people, including an eight-year-old girl, were injured in a five-vehicle crash in Japan’s Aichi Prefecture on Saturday morning.

According to the fire department, according to Xinhua news agency, at around 8:30 a.m. local time, there was an accident involving five passenger cars on the Isewangan Expressway in Yatomi City, Aichi Prefecture.

Six people were taken to hospital, one of them, a man, was seriously injured.

Local police are investigating the details of the accident.

Earlier, on August 12, 2024, in the southwestern Japanese city of Tottori, five people were injured, three of them in critical condition, as a result of a multi-vehicle collision in an expressway tunnel.

According to local authorities, the accident occurred around 11:20 a.m. local time when a car and a truck collided head-on in the Yose Daiichi Tunnel on the Tottori Expressway.
