Once Upon a Time: Former Duluth man sold hubcap patent for .5 million in 1954 – Duluth News Tribune

The body of a man found on the shore of Raspberry Island in Lake Superior has been identified as Otto Kuhlmy, who was transporting coal aboard the steamship John J. Boland. The ship’s owners reported the man missing while being transported to Duluth.

Charles B. Aske Jr., formerly of Duluth, sold his patent for decorative car wheel covers for $2.5 million. Aske started out working on cars with his three brothers in the garage of their Lakeside home.
