Latest news from Gatwick: Two people allowed to continue traveling after being detained over security incident at Gatwick

I stood with hundreds of stranded passengers as they received the news that the terminal was reopening. There were cheers at the time, but people are still unaware and expect further cancellations.

Olly and Liam are going to Miami for the weekend. They haven’t heard much from the airline and say if they lose a day it will be a bit pointless.

“We didn’t hear anything,” Liam said. “I hope we can get there because we are only there for the weekend. If not, we might as well call it all off.”

Denise is going to New York for Thanksgiving, but the airline she’s on doesn’t fly every day. The next flight is only on Sunday.

Another man, Harry, was going to Dublin with five friends for his 21st birthday. But he says the same thing – there is not much information from the airlines and even now that the terminal is open, he is not optimistic.
