Knife-wielding woman killed in deputy shooting in Greenville, Co

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office responded Saturday to a suspect threatening others with a gun, leading to a deputy-involved shooting that resulted in the suspect’s death.

Deputies say they called Kmart Plaza around 2:15 a.m. Saturday after a 911 call was made reporting that a woman was threatening others.

Deputies got into a verbal altercation with the suspect before she pulled out a knife, and she was shot by the deputy, officials said.

Greenville Co. Coroner reports that the suspect was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

The suspect has not yet been identified.

SLED is investigating the incident and the deputies involved in the shooting have been placed on paid administrative leave, per standard Greenville County Sheriff’s Office protocol.
