Two people are dead Saturday morning following a head-on crash in Fulton County

SWANTON, Ohio (WTVG) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol says two people were killed in a head-on collision with a semi-truck in Fulton County early Saturday morning.

OSHP says the crash occurred around 12 p.m. on the Ohio Highway at milepost 26.

Troopers say the first semitrailer was traveling eastbound on I-80 when the second semitrailer, westbound and occupied by two people, crossed the median and struck it head-on. Authorities say the crash sent both semi-trailers off the southbound side of I-80.

Police say the passenger of the second trailer, identified as 45-year-old Jean Moise, died as a result of the impact. The driver of the first trailer, identified as 46-year-old Ronald Dempsey, lost his life and died at a local hospital.

OSHP says the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
