Sandy police are asking for help identifying a man involved in a hunting incident

Sandy police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man involved in what they described as a hunting incident.

Police published on Facebook that the man “may have been involved in an incident” that occurred on November 14 near 2700 E Dimple Dell Rd.

Lt. Jason Nielsen of the Sandy Police Department said a resident called police and told them a man came to their door and said he had shot a deer with a bow and arrow and the deer was in the resident’s yard.

The resident said he didn’t believe the man and never answered the door, and later discovered there was actually an arrow-killed deer in the yard, Nielsen said.

Utah DWR removed the deer. The services want to make contact with the man to determine whether there was a violation of the ordinance or city law.

The man is described as white, with shoulder-length brown hair.

Anyone who recognizes him is asked to call 801-799-3000 and reference SY24-57885.
