Makueni: Several students have been injured following a gruesome school bus accident

What started as a leisurely commute to work for the students ended tragically when the bus they were traveling in crashed near Kakima market in Mbooni sub-county. Makueni County.

What caused the accident in Makueni?

The accident occurred around 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, when the school bus lost control and overturned, leaving students trapped inside.

In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.keKenya Red Cross Society Senior Communications Officer Ahmed Munir confirmed that rescue teams were dispatched to the scene and successfully rescued the students.

Munir further confirmed that there were no fatalities in the incident and only 11 students were injured.

“The Makueni government has dispatched a rescue team. Good thing there were no fatalities. However, 11 students sustained injuries,” Munir said.

The injured students were taken to Mbooni Referral Hospital where they are currently receiving medical attention.
