An MMA fighter who has been repeatedly accused of sexual assault has spoken out after he was found liable in a civil rape and sexual assault trial in Ireland on November 22.

A day after he was found liable in a civil rape and sexual assault case, Conor McGregor complained on social media about “lies” told by the accuser and plans to appeal.

On Friday, November 22, an Irish jury found the 36-year-old MMA fighter responsible for the “brutal” rape and beating of a woman named Nikita Hand in civil lawsuit testimony given in 2021. The jury also ordered him to pay restitution totaling approximately US$257,000, according to Related press AND Guardian.

The assault occurred while Hand was under the influence of alcohol in December 2018, after she invited McGregor to join her and a friend at a company Christmas party in Dublin. She also accused McGregor’s friend James Lawrence of assaulting her that evening, but the jury did not find Lawrence responsible, according to the jury. The Guardian.

Reacting to the ruling on Saturday, November 23, McGregor rejoiced in Lawrence’s outcome and insisted that he too was not liable, repeatedly accusing Hand of lying in a series of posts on X (formerly known as Twitter).

First, McGregor shared Irish Independent article whose headline included a quote about justice being served and reiterated previously announced plans to appeal the result.

“Justice has come true for James Lawrence, yes! It’s deplorable what they did,” the athlete he wrote. “Nikita’s hand, you cruel liar! CANCEL!”

He then shared another story online about the outcome of the case, this time including a quote from Ireland’s Minister of Justice, who praised Hand for her “courage and determination” after Friday’s result. “I falsely accused a man of rape and lost” – McGregor he wrote next to the article.

Then, in a lengthy tirade, the MMA fighter once again accused Hand of lying and claimed he was “not done yet.”

“Two Men Falsely Accused” – November 23 post he started. “One confirmed, the other coming soon! Congratulations to James Lawrence on his absolute acquittal! Twice you have had this heinous accusation brought against you, and twice it has been proven to be FALSE! LIES! It’s absolutely disgraceful what they put you through here. Shameful! I can’t wait for you to defend yourself even more and criticize the guilty in court!”

“We know what happened that night!” – continued the athlete. “Everyone present knows this, and yet it was ignored. Every statement made by those present that evening was ignored. And everyone questioned Nikita’s LIES!”

In the same post, McGregor called Hand’s accusations “absolute bullshit,” accused her of changing the “original story” and questioned the legitimacy of the court that ruled in her favor. “I will never know how these lies were received,” he added. he wrote.

“We’re not done yet. Not in the long run. “No chance,” summed up the MMA fighter. “We fight! Justice and truth will prevail! Canceled! Canceled! Canceled! As well as others. Congratulations James! Onwards and upwards! .”

McGregor has faced multiple sexual assault allegations in addition to the allegations made by Hand. In 2022, a woman she claimed in the lawsuit that McGregor punched her and threatened to drown her while they celebrated his birthday on a boat in Ibiza. He denies the allegations and the case is still ongoing.

McGregor was again accused of sexual assault in 2023, when a woman claimed she was “brutally” forced to perform oral sex in a bathroom at the Kaseya Center in Miami. However, prosecutors said they would not pursue the case due to “insufficient evidence.” ESPN.
