Only invigilators will be allowed to use mobile phones at examination centers during the GCE Advanced Level (A/L) 2024 examinations, which begin on Monday (25).

Addressing a special press conference at the department today, Commissioner General of Examinations Amit Jayasundara said that deputy directors and staff are not allowed to use mobile phones this time.

All preparations have been made for the start of A/L exams on Monday.

“The examination papers for the first six days will be sent to the examination centers tomorrow.
The exam will start on Monday in 2,312 centers and end on December 20.

“A total of 333,183 candidates will take the exam this year. Among all the candidates, there are 253,390 school candidates and 79,795 private individuals,” said the Commissioner General.
