Donald Trump’s cabinet picks demonize people with “good education,” says Bill Clinton

In an interview on MSNBC, Clinton said Trump’s newest cabinet would say “yes” to the president-elect “regardless of the facts and no matter who gets hurt.”

“He believes his supporters have no confidence in the federal government. And God knows he did everything he could to destroy that trust,” Clinton said.

“He thinks he can just say, ‘Well, I appointed these people. They are smart and they are going to shake things up.

“But I think that by demonizing all the institutions and people who wear a tie – like you and me – to work and have a good education, we undermine the legitimacy not only of people who are too sanctimonious and too set in their ways, but of people who know things that are very important to us today and very important for our continued growth, prosperity and harmony.

Trump’s anti-establishment cabinet faces an uphill battle for Senate confirmation, which has already forced his nominee for attorney general to withdraw from the confirmation process.

Matt Gaetz stepped down following a series of allegations of sexual misconduct that were investigated by the House Ethics Committee. He denies the accusations.

Pete HegsethThe Fox News host, Trump’s pick for defense secretary, also faces sexual assault allegations. He says the meeting was consensual. Hegseth’s lawyer said his client paid the accuser to remain silent about the allegations out of fear he would lose his job at the broadcaster.
