A 16-year-old boy is dead after being thrown from an ATV in Rankin County

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office said a 16-year-old was killed Saturday in an ATV accident in Missouri.

Deputies responded to a call for medical assistance following an ATV crash near Old Highway 80 in Pelahatchie around 3:23 p.m.

According to officials, multiple medical units, including AirCare, responded to the scene.

When authorities arrived at the scene, 16-year-old Roshea Rodriguez McCoy Jr. Cardiac arrest and head injury were diagnosed.

Despite the rescue action, the teenager died.

The sheriff’s department’s preliminary investigation revealed that the quad tire suffered damage, causing the teenager to be thrown from the four-wheeler.
