Hegseth must run the Pentagon to save recruitment

Dream. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) told ABC News Sunday morning Pete Hegseth should be confirmed as Secretary of Defense because a former Fox News host told him that many US soldiers said his nomination inspired them to stay in the military.

Hagerty argued that the anecdote was proof that Hegseth leading the military would keep the forces ready to fight and that was all sexual assault allegation in 2017 it was irrelevant to the 44-year-old.

On ABC This weekanchor Jonathan Karol he asked Republican from Tennessee regarding a sexual assault case in California that was never tried and which Hegseth denied through a lawyer.

Karl asked: “You know, in my opinion, Donald Trump didn’t even know about these allegations until he mentioned them. Do you understand that?” Hagerty replied:

Jon, these are all allegations, as you said. It’s amazing how it turned out. Pete is a very talented person. I spoke to him earlier this week. He told me, Jon, about how many people were writing to him, and he said, “Listen, I was thinking about leaving.” You know, we have a huge recruitment problem, a huge retention problem in the military.

I was thinking about leaving. But now that you’ve come to lead us, Pete, I’m going to stay here. This is the kind of inspiring leader we need to see. Don’t let these allegations distract us. We need really significant changes. Over the past four years, the Pentagon has focused more on pronouns than mortality. We have to get back to business. And I think Pete is the right person to do it.
