CMPD vehicle struck, officer injured in Uptown crash

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police say an officer was transported to the hospital after a CMPD vehicle was struck by another driver in Uptown on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred around 11 a.m. in the 300 block of East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, near South College Street.

Police said the officer was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area during this time.
