Today’s Stock Exchange: Adani Enterprises, National Aluminum among seven companies on November 25 F&O ban list

F&O prohibition list: On Monday, November 25, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) banned trading in seven stocks in the futures and options (F&O) segment as they exceeded 95% of the market-wide position limit (MWPL).

However, these shares will be available for trading on the cash market. The NSE updates the list of securities banned from F&O trading on a daily basis.

F&O ban list today

Aarti industry, Adani companyGNFC, India Granules, Hindustan Copper, Indraprastha gasand National Aluminum Company are the seven companies on November 25 on the NSE’s list of banned F&O companies.

The National Stock Exchange said derivative contracts for these securities exceeded 95% of the market-wide position limit and were subject to a ban period in force on the exchange.

“All clients/members will trade derivative contracts relating to the mentioned securities for the sole purpose of reducing their positions through offsetting positions. Any increase in the number of vacancies will result in appropriate punitive and disciplinary action,” the NSE said in a statement.

No new positions are allowed if exchanges list F&O contracts for a particular stock during the prohibition period.

The benchmark equity indices rebounded sharply on November 22, with the Sensex rising 2.54% to reclaim the 79,000 level, driven by broad-based growth and value buying at lower levels.

The benchmark BSE Sensex jumped 1,961.32 points or 2.54 percent to settle at 79,117.11. During the day, it increased by 2,062.4 points, or 2.67 percent, to 79,218.19.

A total of 2,446 stocks gained, 1,475 fell and 120 remained unchanged on the BSE.

The NSE Nifty index rose 557.35 points or 2.39 per cent to 23,907.25.

On a weekly basis, the BSE benchmark rose 1,536.8 points or 1.98 per cent and the Nifty rose 374.55 points or 1.59 per cent.

The BSE mid-cap index rose 1.26 percent and the small-cap index rose 0.90 percent.
