The Eagles veteran suffers an injury that ends his season and possibly his career

Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham He’s 36 years old and has played 206 games in his career, but he didn’t look like an aging star during Sunday’s strong performance against the Los Angeles Rams, which they won 37-20.

Graham had two tackles and a sack, leading a defense that continually harassed Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, sacking him five times. Graham has 3.5 sacks this season, his 15th with the Eagles. He was also strong in Sunday’s race.

However, in the fourth quarter, Graham was treated to a look at his elbow by trainers after a Rams running back’s chip blocked Graham as he was rushing the passer. Several players, including the quarterback, were sidelined before Graham was sidelined Jalen hurtswalked up to him and said a few words before Graham was taken to the locker room, signifying that the injury was serious.

Graham left the game with a torn triceps, likely ending his season and a storied career that included a Tom Brady strip bag that gave the Eagles their only Super Bowl victory.

“If I had to leave like that, I would give it my all,” Graham said. “I’m happy with the way I played today. I couldn’t ask for anything else. We just have to stay focused and I’m going to make sure that as a leader I make my presence felt in that part… At the end of the day, if I had to go out like that, I love the way I’m doing it. I gave my all on the pitch. All I know is that they’re not done with me yet, but it won’t be for too long as I figure out how I can continue to help my team.

Graham said he had been struggling with triceps tendinitis before his injury.

“But this time was different,” Graham said. “It hurt a little longer. And when they tried to examine me, I knew something was wrong.”

Graham, who had considered retirement before deciding to play this season, said it was too early to determine whether his season and career would be over. Meanwhile, the Eagles improved to 9-2.

“Man. … like I told the guys, the mission is the mission,” Graham said, via NBC. “We’re putting everything we can into this game. When I say I trust God, I trust God. I’m just having fun and I’ll be enjoying it soon this little rehab. I’m going to enjoy leading this team for the rest of the year and as soon as I can get back on the field, I’ll be back.”

Head coach Nick Sirianni he said he wanted to wait for the final diagnosis.

“I love him,” Sirianni said. “He’s one of my favorite guys I’ve ever been able to coach. Let’s see where it is. I’m not ready to talk about it yet. I don’t lose hope and we’ll see.

Graham has been a stalwart for the Eagles since they drafted him 13th overall in 2010. He has 76.5 career sacks after striking out Stafford in the second quarter, moving into third place in franchise history.

The Eagles are already weakened defensively. Byrce Huff on Thursday he underwent surgery on his left wrist and was placed on injured reserve before Sunday’s match.

No Huff, defender The Hunt for Jalyx increased workload is expected. Hunt, the team’s third-round draft pick, started on special teams but his time on defense increased, outplaying Huff in games against the Jaguars and Dallas Cowboys. However, Hunt didn’t take a defensive snap in Thursday’s win over the Washington Commanders.

Hunt was expected to be a developing player as he was still learning how to play the edge rusher position after starting his college career as a backup. His quickness with offensive linemen in limited time on the field was noticeable, and Hunt had a sack and three tackles this season.
