A woman has died in a three-vehicle crash that closed a section of a dual carriageway in Nottinghamshire.

Emergency services were called to a collision involving two cars and a van on the A46 near Screveton at around 10.30pm GMT on Saturday.

Police confirmed that the 49-year-old woman died at the scene.

The southbound road was closed while investigations were carried out, but the closure was lifted shortly before 3pm on Sunday.

Officers said they wanted to contact anyone who could provide information or had relevant dashcam footage.

They also thanked drivers for their patience during road closures.
