“This strategic location, identified through diligent intelligence efforts, served as a key food storage site and sanctuary for terrorist commanders and fighters.

“Intelligence has previously linked terrorists at this location to recent attacks, including the attack on soldiers in Kareto on November 16, 2024.” – said Akinboyewa.

The raid, which targeted food storage facilities, paralyzed the terrorists’ logistical capabilities.

“The destruction of the terrorists’ enclave, including food storage facilities, severely disrupted their activities and reduced their ability to carry out future attacks,” Akinboyewa added.

NAF: Successful raid thanks to surveillance and intelligence

The NAF’s success was attributed to extensive intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions conducted over several days, which confirmed the presence of active terrorist structures hidden under thick vegetation, Nation reports.

“NAF fighters launched a robust air interdiction mission, destroying identified structures used as storage facilities and neutralizing terrorists on the ground,” Akinboyewa said.
