Three men shot outside Walterboro bowling alley; one person is dead, two are injured

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) – A shooting in Lowcountry Lanes Friday night left a man dead and two other people hospitalized.

The first reports were received around 11:45 p.m. Friday night of a heavy police presence outside the Lowcountry Lanes bowling alley at 200 Wichman Street. Officers were still on site around 1 a.m. on Saturday.

The Colleton County Fire Department confirmed Monday morning that Walterboro Police and the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene just after 11 that night and found three people suffering from gunshot wounds.

Crews treated patients at the scene and emergency medical services took one man to hospital in critical condition. This man did not survive.

Emergency medical services took the second man, who also suffered serious injuries, to the hospital on a CARE flight to a hospital in North Charleston.

The third victim was taken to a local hospital with a shoulder injury.

The Walterboro Police Department and Colleton County Sheriff’s Office have not yet responded, but the Colleton County Fire Department said Walterboro police are investigating.
