Authorities need help identifying one of two men found shot to death outside an abandoned Birmingham home

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who was shot and killed in Birmingham four days ago.

There was a sacrifice one of two men found dead in an abandoned house in the Inglenook neighborhood.

The second victim identified as 20-year-old Michael Allen Carroll.

Deputy coroner Bill Yates released photos Monday of a necklace and a logo on sweatpants worn by the victim.

The victim is a black man, believed to be between 20 and 35 years old. He was 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighed 270 pounds.

He was wearing gray sweatpants, a green hoodie, and brown shoes with black and white laces.

Yates said fingerprint analysis did not produce an identification.

East Precinct officers responded to a report of shots fired around 6:30 p.m. Thursday at 4400 41st Place North, Officer Truman Fitzgerald said.

Officers went to the back of the abandoned home where they found an unidentified man shot and lying unconscious in the driveway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police then found Carroll at the home after searching the area. He also died on the spot.

The stolen vehicle was recovered at the scene.

Two men were arrested and booked into Birmingham City Prison for a 48-hour investigation. Both were released without charge.
