At the St. Agricultural Market. It’s a terrible season for Norbert

On Saturday, trick-or-treaters could enjoy a solid dose of Halloween fun at a year-round farmers market prepared for spooky season.

St. Farmer’s Market Norbert’s on Winnipeg’s south end invited young children and families to participate in a number of events and celebrations, including a rat hunt held at various booths throughout the market.

“We currently have 75 vendors selling fresh foods, plenty of produce from the gardens and fields, and plenty of processed, jarred and baked home items,” said Danielle Mondor, executive director of St. Norbert Farmers’ Market.

Children could also take part in art and craft classes, use a photo booth and warm up by an outdoor bonfire.

Mondor said this spooky celebration is one of many events held at the square throughout the year.

“People are here for different reasons, so we try to meet the needs of many different customer bases,” Mondor said. “If you’re looking for something to do, we always have something for families and kids to do at our market because we know it’s a great place to spend a day at a farmers market.”

St. Agricultural Market Norberta is open every Saturday from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. Admission is free.
