AMBER Alert issued for alleged abduction of 7-year-old boy, last seen in Otero County

OTero COUNTY, Colo. – A 7-year-old boy was reportedly abducted by a 26-year-old woman and they were last seen in Otero County after the shooting in Lakewood, According to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Lakewood Police Department.

Around 6 a.m. Monday, Lakewood Police Department officers responded to a suspected domestic violence incident that occurred along the 1700 block of Kendell Street in Lakewood, said Lindsey Witzel, a police spokeswoman. When police arrived, they found one person with a gunshot wound.

The person was later identified as the 7-year-old’s father. The CBI identified the boy as Uriah Saye Jr. but did not release the father’s name.

Lakewood police did not identify the alleged shooter, but said 26-year-old Crystal Denmon took Saye from the scene. It is not yet clear whether Denmon is the alleged shooter. Witzel stated that she was not the boy’s biological mother.

Police say they believe Denmon and the gunshot victim know each other.

Denmon and Saye were last seen in Cheraw in Otero County – about 7 miles north of La Junta – on Monday around 12:50 a.m. in a white 2012 Ford Focus with a temporary Colorado license plate number of 681-2186, the CBI said .

The CBI said Denmon is considered armed and dangerous and warned anyone who sees her not to contact her.

In the CBI alert, Saye was described as a black male, 4 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 78 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Denmon is a black woman who is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
