A 17-year-old Cedarburg boy was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the city of Cedarburg

The Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office said a 17-year-old Cedarburg boy died in a car crash Monday morning.

A report of a single-vehicle crash on Bridge Road west of Granville Road in the town of Cedarburg was received by the sheriff’s office at 7:40 a.m. Monday, the department said in a news release.

Police said an initial investigation revealed the 17-year-old was driving a 2004 Honda Accord west on Bridge Road at a high rate of speed when the vehicle left the road, entered a ditch and struck a tree line on the north side of the road. way.

Authorities estimate that the accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. and was first noticed at 7:40 a.m. by a passerby.

Both lanes of Bridge Road, between Granville Road and Westridge Road, were closed for approximately five hours while the crash was investigated, the release said.

Cedarburg Police, Fire, Emergency and Public Works were assisted by the Ozaukee County Emergency Management, Ozaukee County Drone Team, Ozaukee County Accident Reconstruction Team and Gierach’s Towing.
