Mayo Hospice to honor the memory of those who have died with the Hospice Set Memories Aglow

Posted at 7:00 PM on Monday, November 25, 2024

Holidays are usually a joyful time filled with celebrations, meetings, fun and joy. However, these special days can also be stressful and emotional when a loved one dies.

To help on these holidays and special days, Mayo Clinic Hospice will honor those lost with a Hospice Set Memories Aglow cascade of lights at the following campuses: Albert Lea, Austin, Red Wing and Rochester. The trees in front of each facility will be illuminated from December 2 to January 6, 2025.

“While the holidays can be a painful time after the death of a loved one, they can also be a time to cherish fond memories and traditions,” says ReNae Meaney, RN, hospice nurse manager.

Hospitals with displays can be found in the following locations:

Mayo Clinic Health System – Albert Lea

404 West Fountain Street

Albert Lea, MN 56007

Mayo Clinic Health System – Austin

1000 First drive to the northwest

Austin, MN 55912

Mayo Clinic Health System – Red Wing

701 Hewitt Boulevard

Red Wing, MN 55066

Mayo Clinic 41street Professional Street Building/Northwest Clinic

“We encourage everyone to drive by at any time and look at the lights as a tribute to those they love and miss this holiday season. This can help grieving people start a new tradition,” Meaney said.
