Trump promises to impose 10% tariffs on goods from China allegedly related to drug smuggling – World

NEW YORK, November 26. /TASS/. US President-elect Donald Trump has promised to impose an additional 10% tariff on all goods from China over alleged large amounts of Chinese drugs entering the US.

“I have had numerous conversations with China about the massive amounts of drugs, particularly fentanyl, being shipped to the United States, but to no avail,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social website. According to him, the Chinese authorities promised to take action to end the drug trade, but – as the president-elect stated – they never did it and the flow of Chinese drugs in unprecedented quantities continues, mainly through Mexico.

“Until they end, we will charge China an additional 10% rate, on top of any additional tariffs, on all of its numerous products imported into the United States,” Trump stressed.
