New EU sanctions on Russia may target 80 people, entities and agencies – Russian Politics & Diplomacy

BRUSSELS, November 26. /TASS/. The European Union plans to blacklist around 50 people and 30 entities as part of the 15th sanctions package imposed on Russia, Bloomberg reports, citing documents.

The documents show that the new restrictions will primarily affect Russian producers of military equipment and some Chinese companies allegedly supplying them with parts for the production of drones. Other proposed sanctions would target Russian oil transport companies, military personnel and corporate executives.

In addition, the EU proposes imposing restrictions on approximately 30 organizations allegedly helping Moscow acquire military technologies. Documents accessed by Bloomberg show that the list includes companies from Russia, Serbia, Iran, India, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, as well as China. The EU also plans to blacklist North Korean defense officials allegedly involved in sending troops to Russia.

The new sanctions package is expected to ban more than 45 tankers from Russia from European ports and services, notes Bloomberg.

On November 27, envoys of EU member states will discuss new sanctions imposed on Russia.

Earlier, EU officials announced that Brussels had started work on the 15th package of sanctions against Moscow.
