A boy hits a home run in his grandmother’s honor and learns that she died before the game

A mother experiences a special, yet bittersweet moment between her son and his grandmother.

In the now-viral TikTok In a video posted in June that has garnered over 5.8 million views and 4,600 comments, user @jaimelynnkroll shares the touching moment she captured when her son hit his first home run at a baseball game. Before the game, he told his mother that he planned to hit a home run in honor of his grandmother.

However, as the mother revealed in the video’s caption, what her son didn’t know at the time was that his grandmother had died shortly before the play was performed.

“(Their) last gifts to themselves,” she wrote under footage of her managing the bases.

After the video was posted, the comments section quickly filled with words of sympathy and support.

“The Grammys didn’t miss it. she was hot on his heels and ran with him to the main street ,” wrote one of the users. In response, @jaimelynnkroll commented, “I felt it.”

“This will be the happiest and saddest day of this boy’s life ,” another person commented.

Someone else said: “Like I just cried. He’s so happy and he’s about to crush himself. The embodiment of life, joy and sadness.

“The ‘no way…no way!’ makes my eyes water ,” reads another comment. “Something told me to get up and walk behind home plate when there was a batsman this time. I’m very glad I did. ” replied @jaimelynnkroll.

In another movie posted later this month, @jaimelynnkroll took a look at the funeral, where the church was decorated with grandma’s quilts and her favorite color, pink. The video also featured a photo of his son wearing a pink tie and shoes. “Her slugger,” her mom wrote.

“A beautiful celebration of a life well lived,” she captioned the photo posted to TikTok, which also garnered over 20,000 views.

“Grandma was there for his home run, she would never miss it She fulfilled her purpose here and is now his guardian angel,” wrote one user.
