Liam Payne was allegedly trying to escape from his hotel room at CasaSur Palermo in Argentina when he collapsed and died last month.

New surveillance footage from a Buenos Aires hotel shows three hotel employees carrying Payne to his room shortly before his death. After hearing the One Direction artist threaten to use the balcony to escape, hotel staff left him alone in his room.

Payne hated being locked in rooms and back in September, he escaped from a balcony by using a garden hose to reach the ground in a Florida hotel, sources told TMZ.

In the surveillance footage, Payne is fully conscious and can be seen standing upright and wrestling with hotel staff when they reached the door to his room, apparently refusing to go inside. The staff then opened the door to the room using the master key and let Liam inside.

According to a police report obtained by TMZ, to avoid damaging the mirror on the wall directly outside his room, the mirror was removed from his room.

A few minutes after being locked in his room, the employee called the police, saying he was afraid he would hurt himself by using the balcony. “I don’t know if his life could be in danger. He’s in a room with a balcony and, well, we’re a little scared,” according to the police report, the employee said. Shortly thereafter, Payne fell to his death from the balcony.
