Nairobi: A woman allegedly threw acid on three policemen who were chasing a thief

Nairobi – Three police officers are undergoing treatment at Nairobi West Hospital following a violent encounter with suspected criminals in Ngara on Monday, November 25, during an operation to apprehend a theft suspect.

The policemen were taken to hospital due to serious burns.

Officers Tom Mbuku, Moses Lelei and Joyce Otieno were chasing a suspect who was believed to have stolen CBD drugs in Nairobi and transported them to Ngara Medical Center.

Who attacked the officers during the operation in Ngara?

During the operation, the 45-year-old Mororojka woman allegedly attacked the officers with a chemical substance that was probably acidic, causing burns to their faces and limbs.

“Five liters of suspected sulfuric acid and various drugs were recovered and kept as an exhibit,” reads the police report obtained by Citizen Digital.

The suspect reportedly fled into the facility and locked the doors to avoid arrest, preventing officers from entering.

The backup team dispatched to the scene arrested four people at the facility, identified as Mwaura Karumba, 60; Beatrice Kamba, 36; Faith Mboga, 22; and Rose Gitau, 46.

During the investigation, it is unclear whether the main suspect was among those detained.

A man from Eastleigh has been arrested on suspicion of murder

In other news DCI investigators have arrested a 27-year-old suspect in connection with the murder of Abdirahim Abdullahi in the Eastleigh area.
