Murdered 15-year-old Cleveland girl ‘loved playing basketball’

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A 15-year-old Cleveland girl died Monday after being shot in the city’s Central District.

Shilynn Alford was shot and killed Nov. 23 at 6300 Woodland Ave., according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner.

She was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where she died from her injuries on November 25.

Her older brother set up a GoFundMe account to help with funeral costs and said the teen was sweet and loved playing basketball.

“My heart is very heavy and I am trying to be strong for our brothers and sisters. Please keep my mother in your prayers, she never lost a child and this is very devastating for the family,” her brother’s poster on the GoFundMe account.
