Raising awareness of autism and suicide prevention in Adams County

ADAMS COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — An anti-bullying event took place in Adams County on Sunday morning.

The non-profit organization Jonny’s Flight raises awareness about autism and suicide prevention.

The Jonny Tomasello Memorial 5K and Community Day were held at Oakside Community Park.

Tomasello (15) took his own life in December 2023 after dealing with bullying.

The non-profit organization named after him aims to help other children fulfill his dream of becoming a pilot.

“Today was all about bringing the community together, just for everyone to come and hear the message of kindness and love and inclusion and equality,” said Natalie Tomasello, founder and president of Jonny’s Flight. “Everyone is important. You know what we want today? We’re raising funds for our future endeavors, you know, legislation, awareness.”
