Fargo robbery suspect identified dead

FARGO, North Dakota (Valley News Live) – Fargo police have identified a suspect in a weekend robbery who they say died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

They say the suspect is Mesud Heco, 30, of Fargo.

The incident began just after 2:15 a.m. Saturday, when Fargo police were called to the scene to a report of a brutal assault and shooting in the 5500 block of 36th Avenue South. Responding officers learned that the suspect had chased the victim into an occupied neighboring unit and shots had been fired.

Police say one person was injured by gunshots and two people were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The officers used the so-called FLOCK camera system determine which direction the suspect could have gone. They say he was found dead in an industrial area on the north end of town.
