Surry Hills: Police officer charged with assaulting six people and biting another officer

A policeman was charged and will appear in court after he attacked his colleagues and bit one of them during a fight at the police station.

On Sunday, January 14, 2024, police attended Campbell Street, Surry Hills, following an incident in which an off-duty officer – a South West Metropolitan Police officer – allegedly assaulted a 51-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman – and two off-duty police officers in age – 35 and 37 years old.

The officer was arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station where it is alleged he then attacked the 49-year-old sergeant and bit the 27-year-old officer on the arm.
