Two people suffered serious injuries after a crash in Ward County

WARD COUNTY, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Two people suffered serious injuries after a two-vehicle collision that occurred Friday, Oct. 25, 2 miles south of Minot.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at approximately 8:37 a.m., a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 77-year-old Paul Simonson was traveling south on Highway 83 approaching the intersection with 54th Ave. SW at the same time, a 2017 Infiniti QX50 driven by a 17-year-old female was traveling west on 54th Ave. SW and crossed Highway 83.

NDHP says the Infiniti failed to yield to the Jeep. Ultimately, the Jeep struck the Infiniti on the passenger side. Simonson was not injured, but a passenger, 74-year-old Paula Simonson, was seriously injured. A 17-year-old woman suffered serious injuries. Both were taken to the district hospital.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
