Police are searching for a third suspect after an alleged brutal kidnapping left a man “naked and bleeding” on the New South Wales Mid North Coast.

The ruling came after two people were arrested in Western Australia on November 21 after allegedly kidnapping a 32-year-old man from a home in Port Macquarie on November 16.

The man was allegedly taken by three kidnappers to a remote area in the Bago State Forest, where he was abandoned after being shot multiple times in the arms and legs.

Detective Inspector Peter O’Reilly said the 32-year-old survived when he was discovered by a jogger.

“He was a cross-country runner out for a leisurely Sunday morning jog who came across this man,” Detective Inspector Peter O’Reilly said.

“He was naked and bleeding. It was obvious he had been shot several times.”

The man was treated by an emergency medical team and his condition is stable in hospital.

Alleged kidnappers arrested in WA

Strike Force Parham was established to investigate the kidnapping and Detective Inspector O’Reilly said detectives discovered two persons of interest had traveled to remote Western Australia.

“(Following) great work by our local detectives, we were able to locate these individuals in Western Australia,” he said.

On November 21, police arrested Matthew McDonald, 25, and Nykeeta Jones, 38, in Balladonia, near Kalgoorlie.

During a search of the vehicle the couple were traveling in, police discovered alleged items including a flashlight, a knife and a loaded sawed-off rifle.
