Pune Horror: 15-year-old boy dies by suicide after man sexually assaults him

Pune: In a tragic incident, a 15-year-old boy committed suicide after being sexually harassed and threatened by a 26-year-old man. According to the police, the boy accidentally reached for it after the man threatened him with sharing the video, according to media reports.

Following the incident, an FIR was registered at Pune police station earlier this week based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s father. The officers arrested the accused on charges of abetment to suicide and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.

According to the report, a class 10 student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his house on October 15.

The senior inspector said preliminary investigation revealed that the boy was receiving messages from several numbers threatening him to post a particular video. The officers focused on the defendant who was standing in front of the shopping center. One day a few months ago, the boy met the accused, who took the teenager to a secluded place and sexually assaulted him.

The officer further added that the accused allegedly recorded the incident and sent messages to the boy, threatening to spread them, which led the boy to take the drastic step.

After the FIR was filed, the accused was sent to police custody.
