1 person killed, another airlifted after shooting in Pretoria – LNN

A man was shot and another was seriously injured in a shooting in Mountain View, Pretoria yesterday afternoon.

Pretoria record reports Best Care Emergency Medical Services spokesman Xander Loubser said authorities responded to the incident near its headquarters around 2:45 p.m.

“Upon arrival at the scene, our rescuers confirmed the devastating loss of one person. A second person was found in a critical condition,” he adds.

The shooting suspect was detained at the scene by Brinant Security, whose quick actions ensured the safety of all present.

“We commend Brinant Security for its outstanding work in managing this situation,” says Loubser.

The injured victim was stabilized by Best Care Emergency Medical Services in cooperation with Netcare 911 and transported by Netcare911 rescue helicopter to the trauma center.

“We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, and our thoughts are with the injured person, wishing him a full and speedy recovery,” Loubser adds.

Investigations are ongoing.
