Bonifay schools are canceling outdoor classes amid a police murder investigation

HOLMES COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Out of caution, some Bonifay schools have canceled scheduled outdoor activities on Monday, October 27.

The announcement comes after the Bonifay Police Department released details about approximately double murder investigationand their search for a person of interest in connection with the case.

The Holmes County School Board made the announcement Sunday evening, stating that due to the increased law enforcement presence in Bonifay and out of an abundance of caution, there will be no outdoor activities Monday at Bonifay schools: Holmes County High School, Bonifay K-8 School and Graduation Assistance Program.

They stated that Bonifay K-8 School’s Kindergarten and First Grade Field Day has been postponed and a new date will be announced at a later date.

School Board members asked parents to keep them updated on activities scheduled for the remainder of the week.
