In an interview with LehrenZarina talked about Jiah’s death. She said, “Uske pehle bhi usne 4-5 baar try kiya hai, lekin naseeb aisi thi ki jab mere bete ka turn aaya toh, it happened (even before she tried 4-5 times but fate made it so that when it was my turn son, that’s what happened),” she said.

In the interview, she also said that she faced professional setbacks due to the Sooraj case. She said: “We have all gone through bad times, but I believe in one thing: ‘If you spoil someone’s life with lies, take it as a loan; will come to you with interest. Karma says so.
