Seahawks sign Patrick O’Connell from practice squad; Put Anthony Bradford on IR

The Seahawks placed right guard Anthony Bradford on injured reserve following an ankle injury he suffered in Sunday’s win over the Cardinals.

Defender Patrick O’Connell he was signed from the practice squad to fill an open roster spot. O’Connell, who signed with the Seahawks last year as an undrafted rookie out of Montana, has appeared in three games this season as a practice squad fixture and played 30 snaps on special teams.

Additionally, an outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu and take care of it Forsythe Stone have been scheduled to return to training. Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said Monday that Nwosu, who went on injured reserve after suffering a thigh injury suffered in Week 5, will practice this weekbut he is not expected to play in Sunday’s game against the Jets. Forsythe, who started five games in Week 1 after George Fant suffered a knee injury, has been on the reserve list for a month with a hand injury.

With O’Connell signed to the active roster and returning Jerzy Holani was reinstated to the practice squad from practice squad injured reserve.

With Bradford gone, the Seahawks will need a new starter at right guard, and though he seems like a likely candidate Christian Hayneswho took over in last week’s match and who split playing time with Bradford earlier this season, Macdonald said this week that another debutant Sataoa Laumea I’ll check this place out too.

“Sataoa is someone we will look at closely as well,” Macdonald said when asked about Haynes in the role. “But Christian played winning football for us, but we want him to improve. Keep growing man, you have to prove it every week on the field and in the preparations. But now he deserves all the credit for being a player, a guy who was changing and then AB took over, he was still prepared, he knew everything that we – we didn’t have the mentality that day, but we had to work out some technical things, but overall “Overall, it was good enough to win the game, so I’m glad he could step in and help us win the football game.”
