House fire in West Lafayette claims human and animal lives – Indianapolis News | Weather in Indiana | Indiana traffic

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) – A man and an animal died Tuesday in a house fire near West Lafayette, according to the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office.

A press release issued Tuesday by the sheriff’s office did not identify the man. News 8 reached out to the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office on Wednesday to determine if the man had been identified.

A 911 caller reported the fire around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Blueberry Lane. This is the Green Meadows neighborhood located on State Route 26, about a mile northwest of its intersection with US 52.

According to the release, after teams of four fire brigades brought the fire under control, a man’s body was found in the house.

The released person did not say what type of animal was found dead.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office was called in to assist with the sheriff’s office investigation.
