Israel at War, Day 418: What’s Happening in Gaza, Lebanon? | News from Israel

Tehran reserves the right to respond to last month’s Israeli airstrikes on Iran, but also keeps other developments in the region in mind, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi he said on Wednesday.

During a trip to Lisbon, Araghchi told reporters that Iran was welcomed Tuesday’s ceasefire agreement in Lebanon and hoped it would lead to a permanent ceasefire. A ceasefire between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah took effect on Wednesday under an agreement brokered by the United States and France.

Asked if a ceasefire could lead to an easing of tensions between Israel and Iranhe said, “It depends on Israel’s behavior.”

“Of course, we reserve the right to react to the recent Israeli aggression, but we take into account all developments in the region,” he said.

Previous Israeli retaliatory attacks

Israel attacked targets in Iran on October 26 in retaliation for Iranian missile fire against Israel on October 1.

Ali Larijani, a senior adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, said in an interview published Sunday by Iran’s Tasnim news agency that his country was preparing to “reply” to Israel.
