A 16-year-old died, a 15-year-old was transported by helicopter to hospital in a single-car accident

BLOUNT COUNTY, Alabama (WBRC) – A 16-year-old Springville teenager died Sunday, Oct. 27, as a result of a fatal car accident.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, a single-vehicle accident occurred at 11:30 a.m. Sunday on AL 132 near Altoona after a 16-year-old’s car left the roadway, struck an embankment, overturned and caught fire. . The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

ALEA says a 15-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the car, was ejected from the vehicle and airlifted to a local hospital for treatment.

According to authorities, both teenagers were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
