Jiah Khan tried to commit suicide 4-5 times before meeting Sooraj Pancholi, says Zarina Wahab

Actor Sooraj Pancholi was acquitted in 2023 of charges of abetting Jiah Khan’s suicide. Jiah was found dead at her Juhu residence in Mumbai in 2013. Recently, Sooraj’s mother, actress Zarina Wahab, reflected on the matter and revealed that the late actor had tried to commit suicide multiple times before meeting her son.

‘Uske pehle bhi usne 4-5 baar try kiya hai, lekin naseeb aisi thi ki jab mere bete ka turn aaya toh this happened (she even tried 4-5 times before, but fate meant that when it was my son’s turn, this happened),” Zarina said in an interview for Lehren Retro.

Sooraj, son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, was dating Jiah at the time of her death. A few weeks after the incident, he was arrested on suspicion of inciting suicide based on a note attributed to Jiah. He was fired He was released on bail after spending 22 days in custody.

Reflecting on the impact of this case, Zarina said: “We have all gone through bad times, but I believe in one thing: “If you spoil someone’s life with lies, take it as a loan; will come to you with interest. Karma says so. Hum log ne intezaar kiya jab was not guilty (we all waited). It took 10 years, but he’s done it and I’m happy. This affected Sooraj’s career.”

In April 2023, a special CBI court acquitted Sooraj of the charges, citing lack of sufficient evidence.
