More than 11 years have passed since the death of actress Jiah Khan. She allegedly hanged herself to death and wrote a six-page suicide note addressed to her boyfriend, Sooraj Pancholi. The heroic actor attended her funeral along with his father, Aditya Pancholi. However, the situation became quite complicated after the Indian manufacturer behaved inappropriately towards the media. In her suicide note, Jiah Khan accused Sooraj Pancholi of verbally and physically abusing him. She was only 25 years old at the time of her death, and court documents also show that she had to undergo an abortion despite being four months pregnant.

Aditya Pancholi created a scene at Jiah’s funeral

Many remember that Aditya’s father accompanied Aditya Pancholi to the funeral of his girlfriend, Jiah Khan. His mother, Zarina Wahab, was also present during the last rites. However, when he left the room, the situation became more complicated. Instead of apologizing, the producer allegedly ran over the cameraman’s tripod and argued with the media.

While Sooraj Pancholi was being questioned by the police over his links with Jiah Khan’s death, father Aditya went into defense mode. In an interview to IANS, he said, “Sooraj ki kya galti hai (What is Sooraj’s fault)? They are probably looking for a villain in this story and Sooraj has been chosen as the villain in this story. If you take Raavan outside the Ramayana it loses its influence. What is it? Sholay without Gabbar Singh?

Pancholi also claimed that apart from her relationship with Sooraj, other factors made Jiah Khan take extreme steps. He alleged that the Nishabd actress often hid her emotions.

Judgment in Jiah Khan’s suicide case

Sooraj Pancholi, accused of abetment to suicide, was arrested soon after her death but was later released on bail. Almost a year later, the high court ordered the CBI to probe the case. In 2023, the Time To Dance actor was acquitted due to lack of evidence in Jiah Khan’s suicide case.
