Four workers and engineer injured in Madurai flyover scaffold collapse

Madurai: On Thursday, police said four workers and an engineer were injured when an iron scaffolding intended for the construction of a leg of the Goripalayam flyover collapsed.

Scaffolding was recently erected on the Palam station road to establish the connecting arm of the viaduct at Goripalayam junction.

Police say it collapsed suddenly Wednesday evening while workers were pouring concrete.

The injured were shifted to the Rajaji Government Hospital here. Sellur police have registered a case.
