A man said his Call of Duty game turned into “real life” when a house next door suddenly exploded. Today (Thursday, November 28) at approximately 12.43 p.m. in a two-story building on Benedict Street, Bootle exploded, leaving residents who heard a “loud bang” wondering if “a truck had fallen out of the sky.”

After the arrival of the fire brigade, it turned out that the terraced house was on fire. Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and saved two people who were conscious and breathing. Another two people were already outside the property. Three of them were taken to hospital.

A section of Benedict Street was cordoned off for several hours while Cadent and Merseyside Fire and Rescue units investigated the scene. Shocked neighbors watched as broken glass and debris littered the road. One man who lives just a few houses from the site of the explosion said: “I was playing the new Call of Duty when it became real life. I thought a wardrobe had fallen, heard a commotion and looked outside. It was hard not to notice it. to hear.”

He added that it was “fortunate” that most children went to school.

Just after 12:30 p.m. one of the women heard a “big bang.” She told the ECHO: “I heard a bang but I thought it was the guys working on the street. Then I checked the Ring Doorbell and saw a fire truck coming down the street.

“I went outside and saw a lot of people walking by, so I walked down the street and saw that the front of the house had been blown off. It was shocking.
