An unidentified woman died suddenly in unknown circumstances in the office of the Ministry of Land and Spatial Planning.

According to reports, a 76-year-old woman collapsed and died in the waiting room where she was with other customers.

The septuagenarian was waiting for services in her office when her fate unceremoniously met her.

Thika officers take the woman to hospital

“We received a report from the Sub County Lands Adjudication office that an unidentified female client had lost consciousness. The officers responded immediately after arriving at the scene and confirmed the reports. We immediately took her to hospital for emergency treatment but she was confirmed dead on arrival,” Thika West County Police Commander Lawrence Muchangi.

The woman was waiting for the return of the officer who was on a business trip.

A land settlement official reportedly instructed customers to wait until the afternoon, when service was scheduled to resume.

“The family has been informed of the heartbreaking news and is already conducting an autopsy on her loved ones to find out the cause of her death,” Muchangi added.

Busia woman dies after house collapses

In another story, devastation and mourning fell on the people of Teso in Busia county after a torrential downpour that claimed the life of a 70-year-old grandmother.

According to a resident of the affected area, heavy rain and strong winds damaged houses and livestock, while children were crying.

The old grandmother’s house collapsed and she was buried there.

Another resident said that as a result of the mishap, children were injured and even farm animals died.
