Police provide an update on the Real Madrid bus crash following Liverpool’s defeat

According to police findings, on Thursday, the Real Madrid coach collided with a car and a truck, a few hours after the club’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League.

Warwickshire Police issued a statement. “Our officers responded to reports of a collision between a car, a lorry and a football coach on the M40 southbound, between junction 16 Hockley Heath and junction 15 Warwick,” he explained.

“Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. At that time, there were no players from a famous football team in the coach.”

The club only unveiled the bus last month, changing its name to match the £1.5 billion redevelopment of the Bernabeu Stadium. However, the incident on the M40 motorway is not even the first this year, after being involved in a crash in February in Germany during the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 against RB Leipzig in Madrid.

For this tie, the team had to fly to Erfurt rather than Leipzig due to a strike at the city’s airport. This required them to travel over 160 km by bus, during which, as the German tabloid Bild reported at the time, they collided with a white Toyota.
