After an investigation revealed that the same vehicle was involved in both incidents, the driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol

Yesterday afternoon, Temiskaming OPP arrested a driver for driving under the influence after two separate crashes on Highway 11 North involving the same person.

On November 27 at 1:30 p.m., OPP responded to a failed collision on Highway 11 in Temiskaming Shores.

Officers responding to that incident encountered a second one on Highway 11, about three miles south of the first crash.

After an investigation revealed that the same vehicle was involved in both incidents, the driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Shelby Loach, 26, of Englehart is charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with a request
  • Do not remain at the scene of the accident

Loach was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury on January 7, 2025.
